Jobs hope for Grimsby as Danish wind giant Dong Energy gears up.

One of our partners offshore wind giant Dong Energy has officially launched its next North Sea project, one that could bring a further jobs boost to Grimsby.

The Danish giant, already investing heavily in the port to make it an operations and maintenance base for Westermost Rough, could also use the town for Race Bank, a 580MW site that could feature up to 91 turbines, generating electricity for nearly half a million homes.

It sits in the Greater Wash, virtually equidistant from the Lincolnshire and North Norfolk coast, and was acquired with consents in place, for £50 million, from Centrica in December, as reported.
